POLYSENTRY INC. (“POLYSENTRY”)

This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices of POLYSENTRY INC. (sometimes referred to in this Privacy Policy as “POLYSENTRY”, “we”, “us” or “our”), in connection with the POLYSENTRY website, the POLYSENTRY application programming interface, and any other application or service offered by POLYSENTRY from time to time (collectively, the “Service”). We have provided this statement of our Privacy Policy to answer your questions about the types of information that we gather and the ways in which we use and share this information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By visiting POLYSENTRY’s website or by using POLYSENTRY’s Service, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. In addition to our Privacy Policy, your use of POLYSENTRY’s website is governed by our Terms and Conditions of Service.

1. GENERAL PRINCIPLES

At POLYSENTRY we are committed to protecting your privacy, and maintain a general policy of openness about how we collect, use and disclose your personal information. We take your privacy seriously and strongly support an individual’s rights to privacy. This Privacy Policy has been established to help POLYSENTRY users understand our commitment and approach to protecting privacy and personal information.

POLYSENTRY’s Service allows its users to collect and use information from public sources, primarily social media. POLYSENTRY’s Service is designed to search social media information that individual authors have already made publicly available through the privacy settings of their social media accounts.

Besides the client information directly collected by POLYSENTRY as described in this Privacy Policy, POLYSENTRY does not collect personal information itself. While some searches using POLYSENTRY’s Service may gather publicly available personal information in the search results, POLYSENTRY does not store that information. POLYSENTRY does not engage in data scraping or data mining of social media information. All information searched by the Service is information that has been publicly published by individual social media authors and marked as consumable by the applicable social media provider.

2. SCOPE OF PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy applies to the POLYSENTRY website and to POLYSENTRY’s Service generally. It does not apply to any external links from the POLYSENTRY’s website or the policies and practices of any third-party social media services that are shown in POLYSENTRY’s Service such as Twitter, YouTube, Instagram or others. If you access third-party sites or links, we cannot take responsibility for the content or privacy policies of those third parties and we encourage you to carefully review their privacy policies before accessing those third party services.

3. INFORMATION POLYSENTRY COLLECTS

3.1 User Information. If you subscribe to use POLYSENTRY’s Service, we will ask for personal information such as your name, email address, physical address and payment address. We use that information to identify you when you log-in to use our products, for billing purposes, to collect payments, to provide you with account support and to keep you informed about your account and our products, if you have requested to receive such information.

3.2 Website Traffic. In addition, POLYSENTRY collects and analyzes traffic on our website by keeping track of the IP addresses of our visitors and by collecting log file information. Your IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to the computer that you are using by your Internet service provider (ISP) or by another organization. An IP address, by itself, cannot identify you personally. However, when combined with other information, your IP address can be used to identify the computer you are using. In addition, POLYSENTRY may use your IP address to estimate your geographic location. We discuss log file information further in a later paragraph of this Section 3.

3.3 Cookies. POLYSENTRY uses tracking technology called “cookies” on our website and to deliver our Service. By visiting our website or using POLYSENTRY’s Service you agree to the use of cookies in your internet browser and HTML-based emails. Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website, in order to track the use of the site and to improve your user experience. POLYSENTRY uses “session cookies”, which make the user experience more efficient by storing certain information from your current visit on your device, such as log-in information. These session cookies help POLYSENTRY to recognize your log-in session so you can move easily within our website and access POLYSENTRY’s Service.

3.4 Log File Information. Your web browser automatically sends information to every website you visit, including ours. For example, our server logs may receive and record information such as the pages you access on our website, referring URLs, your browser type, your operating system, the date and time of your visit, and the duration of your visit to each page.

3.5 User Agent Strings. Log file information may also include a user agent string, a series of characters automatically sent with your Internet requests that provide information necessary for smooth Internet communications such as the operating system and browser you used. Similar to an IP address, a user agent string, by itself, does not identify you personally. However, when combined with other information, a user agent string might be used to identify the computer originating a message.

3.6 Query Searches. In the course of using the Service, a user will: (a) formulate and enter search queries into the Service; and (b) view, download, and/or print the resulting query information, data and material through the Service (collectively, the “Query Data”). POLYSENTRY may maintain a record of the search queries that the user entered into the Service, but POLYSENTRY will not maintain any record of the Query Data.

3.7 Collection of Additional Information; Retention. POLYSENTRY may collect additional information from or about you in other ways, including responses to customer surveys or your communications with our customer service team. POLYSENTRY may retain all information it collects for an indefinite period of time.

Whenever POLYSENTRY collects data directly from individuals, it will provide: (a) notice of such collection; (b) a copy of or link to this Privacy Policy, including a description of how such data will be used and the rights of individuals whose information is being collected.

4. HOW POLYSENTRY USES INFORMATION

As stated above, POLYSENTRY may use personal information such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other contact information we obtain from you for the purposes of providing, enhancing, or improving POLYSENTRY’s Service.

POLYSENTRY maintains contact lists (with email addresses and other information) to allow us to communicate with our clients or people who have expressed an interest in POLYSENTRY’s Service. We may contact you to confirm your purchases or respond to requests that you make, notify you of changes to your account or our products, for marketing purposes, or to otherwise inform you of information related to our business or your account with us.

Non-identifying information includes information collected from or about you that does not personally identify you. POLYSENTRY treats IP addresses, log file information and other related information as non-identifying information, except if applicable law requires us to do otherwise. POLYSENTRY uses this information to learn about user demographics and user behaviour in order to improve POLYSENTRY’s Service. Certain jurisdictions, including the European Union, may deem IP addresses and/or unique identifiers, to be personal information. Accordingly, for persons in such jurisdictions, our use of Non-Identifying Information as described in this Privacy Policy, should be assumed to include IP address and unique identifier data.

5. HOW POLYSENTRY SHARES INFORMATION

We may provide your information to our third party service providers, contractors and business partners, for the purpose of delivering POLYSENTRY’s Service to you as well as for purposes related to administration of our website and operation, including conducting analytics. When sharing information for the purpose of providing you with our products and services, we will share your personal information only as necessary for the third party working on POLYSENTRY’s behalf to complete its work for us. For example, if you use a credit card to complete a transaction on our website, we may share your personal information and credit card number with a credit card processing company in order to complete your transaction.

In order to provide the Service, POLYSENTRY uses the search queries you enter into the Service to search the third party social media services that are included in the search. However, search queries are not associated with your account, so it does not identify you to any of the third party social media services.

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information to appropriate third-parties if we are required to do so by law or we believe that such action is necessary in order (a) to comply with legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, or court order; (b) to protect the company’s rights and property; (c) to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the rights, property, or personal safety of any person; or (d) to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our website or products.

If another company acquires POLYSENTRY, our databases and any personal information we collect may be among the assets transferred to the new company.

If you do not wish to receive email notifications from us, you may opt-out by contacting us at contact@polysentry.com with your request. In addition, certain email communications we send to you contain a clearly worded “Unsubscribe” link allowing you to withdraw your permission for future mailings.

You can manually delete cookies, which are normally located in your temporary Internet folder or cookie folder. You can also reset the preferences in your web browser to notify you when you have received a cookie or, alternatively, to refuse to accept cookies. Deleting or blocking cookies will affect the functionality when you access our website or access our products and services that require a log-in.

You can contact us to obtain a copy of your personal information that is held by us. This may be subject to a fee as permitted by applicable law. You can also ask us to correct and, where relevant, erase that information. Note, however, that certain information may need to be kept for a period of time where this is necessary for our business purposes or as required or authorized by applicable law. There are some cases where we are prohibited from disclosing your personal information and in such cases, we will provide you with the reasons for that.
